About Rob Karel

Rob is a leading expert in how companies manage data and integrate information across the enterpris. His current research focus includes master data management, data quality management, metadata management, data governance, and data integration technologies, including ETL en EII.

Rob has more than 14 years of data management experience working in both business and IT roles to develop solutions that provide better quality, confidence in, and usability of critical enterprise data. Prior to joining Forrester, he managed Intuit's enterprise data quality initiatives and supported the implementation of Intuit's customer master reference system. Previous to Intuit, Rob managed the design and development of customer master and attribute management solutions for Cisco Systems. Earlier, Rob was research manager for the Global Mergers & Acquisitions product group at Thomson Financial Securities Data (now Thomson Financial Investment Banking).

About Ron Tolido

Ron studied the Dutch Language and Literature at the University of Leiden before earning a bachelor degree in Information Technology at The Hague Polytechnic.

About Prof. Dr. Robert Winter

Prof. Dr. Robert Winter is director of the Institute of Information Management, University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, and director of HSG's Executive MBA program in Business Engineering. He received Master degrees in Business Administration and Business Education from Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. Being a research assistant with Goethe University for ten years, he received a doctorate in social sciences and venia legendi for business administration. Since 1996 he is teaching and doing research at Switzerland’s premier business school.

He is responsible for several competence centers (research consortia funded and supported by large Swiss and German companies) in data warehousing, integration management and architecture management. He is a regular speaker at events in Switzerland and abroad, member of the scientific board of several institutions, and authored and / or edited more than ten books as well as over 100 scientific publications.

Hans Henseler started working for PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory (PwC) in 2006 at the department of Dispute Analysis & Investigations. He is director Forensic Technology Solutions (FTS) for PwC Eurofirms and is responsible for the acquisition and execution of engagements as well as the development and coordination of 50 forensic technology experts in 17 different countries. FTS experts collect, process and analyze digital information assisting forensic accountants in fact finding investigations, for instance when fraud is suspected or when irregularities are investigated by supervising authorities.

After finishing his education at the Erasmus University Rotterdam Hein started his commercial career at Sara Lee Douwe Egberts were he had several marketing and sales positions. After a position at Hallmark (greeting cards), he was appointed marketing manager at Essilor Benelux, the world leading manufacturer of ophthalmologic lenses. At Essilor he developed an extensive B to B to C marketing service program for opticians. Part of this program was a consumer loyalty program were the independent optician had the possibility to market directly towards his end consumer. This program was awarded in 2006 with the EMEA Gartner CRM excellence award. After 5 years he decided to start his own consultancy with a focus on developing and implementing B to B to C marketing programs.

About Owen Francis

Owen is Director of Risk and Compliance at ING Lease (UK) Limited. He took up this position with the ING Group in 2005 and his responsibilities include Underwriting, Arrears Management and Compliance and he is a Main Board Director of the UK Leasing Division.

Prior to joining ING Owen headed up the UK Risk function for LTSB Asset Finance Division from 2000 having first joined that Group in 1987.

Outside work Owen lives in Weybridge with his wife Gill who is a Stockbroker with Edward Jones. He is a keen sportsman and season ticket holder of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club

David is Senior Manager of the Compliance department at ING Lease (UK) Limited. About Hubert Lissens

Hubert is born in Aalst (Belgium) in 1958. He graduated in interpretation-translation, specialised in English translation.

In November 1979 he started his career in the Belgian Bank Brussel Lambert (nowadays part of the ING Group) in the commercial network. After 10 years he took the opportunity to join the Central Department in Brussels as organisation responsible for what at that time was called the “Customer File”.

In 1991, he took on the analysis of the merging and transforming of the “old” customer and prospect databases in the actual person-centric database and helped to realize the launch of this major project in may 1995. Since then, he’s been working in this department, renewing this application as a consequence of new business and legal needs. Nowadays he’s manager of the Requirement Management team of the “Customer Data & Agreement Management department” within ING Belgium. In a nutshell, you could say 20 years of customer and prospect data experience has been gathered!

Jointed Bank Brussel Lambert in 1978 and was from day one involved in datamanagement. Since all Master Data was centralised in one unique database, he created a support team with data stewards who still are responsible of data quality and who are the gate keepers of the central stored client and prospect data. A monthly report is presented to senior management to keep them informed of data quality by ING Belgium. A recent external review of the client data proofed that master data is in very good shape. Was together with Hubert Lissens nominated in 2007 by the Dutch Direct Marketing Association for the Data Quality Award where they won the “publieksprijs” at that event.
